Should You Use a Comma After a Degree?
Which sentence is correct?
1. Tom Jones, PhD, specializes in oncology.
2. Tom Jones, PhD specializes in oncology.
I think that #1 is better, since the symmetry of the commas — both before and after “PhD” — provides visual clarity.
